The town of Bay Roberts is pleased to have been designated as the only offical site in Conception and Trinity Bay to host the Soiree '99 celebrations. The Department of Tourism, Culture, and Recreation has planned a provincial tour to celebrate Newfoundland and Labrador's 50th Anniversary. Through the use of exhibitions, as well as drama and music, we will be "Celebrating Canada our way" as Canada's most interesting province. The importance of the provincial tour is that it brings the Soiree '99 celebrations to the people of the province and the tour is scheduled to be in Bay Roberts on Saturday, July 3rd, 1999. It provides Bay Roberts with the opportunity of joining in with the Anniversary festivities and encouraging our families and friends who "live" away to come home and enjoy with us, this memorable experience. As well, preparations are ongoing by the Host Committee for many activities from July 1st to July 4th, 1999.
