Humour
Once a policeman came to Island Cove to find out some information on who was making moonshine there. As he was driving along he came upon an elderly man standing by the side of the road. His name was Uncle Jimmy Cutey. The policeman asked the man his name, and he replied "Jim Sir."
The officer then asked "Jim, do you know who is making the moonshine in Island Cove?".
To this question, Jim replied "Yes sir, indeed I do."The policeman took out his notebook anxiously and began to write. Jim said, "The fella who makes the moonshine in Island Cove is the same guy who makes the sunshine in Harbour Grace."
Much like any other Newfoundlanders, Island Covers like to laugh, even if it is at their own expense. As illustrated in the example above, they have a very good sense of humor and it is hard to pull a fast one on them.
