TCP Telethon

Student Council Co- Presidents Stephen Power & Collete Garland along with teacher, Ms.Jennifer Lawrence and Principal, Mr.Philip Wood presenting a cheque for $500 on behalf of the staff and students at the TCP Health Foundation Telethon.

 

Ascension Collegiate was very honored recently to have 2 distinguished speakers drop by Ascension and speak with the students and staff. Mr. Philip Reitman, a survivor of the Holocaust, held everyone's attention as he spoke about his experiences and some of the horrors of World War II. Mr.Gwynee Dyer, a renowned journalist and Newfoundlander, spoke on the current situation in the Midle East and climate change from his unique perspective.

 

 

Congratulations! to our Girls' Hockey and Volleyball Teams. Our volleyball team won the 1st Place Banner at the Papermaking Classic held at Grand Falls and our Hockey Team had a repeat performance by winning the Walsh Shield again this Year.

 

School Principal, Philip Wood and Intergovernmental Affairs Minister, the Hon. Tom Hedderson, present Stephen Coombs with the Governor General's Academic Medal for 2006 - 2007. The medal recognizes his outstanding scholastic achievement and for receiving the highest grade average in his graduating class. Congratulations to Stephen and all other graduating students who received their awards and diplomas at our recently held Awards Night.

Ascension Collegiate defended its Provincial 4A Volleyball Crown at Ascension Collegiate on the weekend of December 7 & 8 - Congratulations Girls and Coaches!!!!

Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 32, Bay Roberts along with School Principal, Philip Wood, present Luanne Dominix with a certificate and a cash award for winning the Provincial Legion's Color Poster Contest for 2008.
