Ascension Collegiate
offers a wide range of courses and programs for the senior high
school student. The School's Mission Statement expresses the goals
of the school. The school community is particularly proud of our
mathematics, science, and technology programs which are capable
of competing with any senior high school in North America, our Astros
Teams that have brought home numerous trophies and our Ascension
Alumni who have made their mark in all parts of the world.
The essential
purpose of our school is comprehensive learning directed at developing
the individual academically, culturally, socially, physically and
morally.
The concept of student
as learner implies the ability to learn independently, collaborate
and competitively. It is our aim to incorporate the school, the
community and parents in a team approach to the total learning process.
Our challenge is to develop a desirable work ethic, to encourage
students to spurn mediocrity, to strive for excellence and to become
responsible citizens capable of success in an ever-changing, technologically
advanced environment.
Our focus is to promote
a consciousness in our students that while education better prepares
individuals to earn a living, it also significantly enhances the
overall quality of life for the individual and society.
